spocott is a beta type stirling engine, inspired by the spocott windmill on maryland's eastern shore.

manufacturing
machining, finishing, assembly
all components were cots or machined in house, in penn's precision machining lab. parts were machined from 6061 aluminum, c360 brass, or 4130 carbon steel depending on application, using a combination of manual and cnc mill and lathe operations. components were finished with a final polish or sandblast. upon testing, the engine reached speeds of 1700 rpm.
